Orientation and Playing at the Park with the boys!

Hello,
I hope everyone is doing well! I have now been in
New Zealand for almost 2 weeks and I have been having a blast! I went to orientation with Au Pair Link last week on Thursday and Friday! We had about 17 girls; mostly German, 1 from Sweden, 1 from France, and 5 of us were from USA! They said that was quite a large number from the US because usually they don’t get very many from there. It was interesting to meet all the girls from other places and see how excited we all were to meet our families. Most of the girls were very nervous. Luckily since I had already met my family and been in the city I had fun telling people about the things I knew about the city already.
We learned first aid and CPR for infants to 12 years old. There was a girl in our class that was being very comical acting out scenarios and such, which made every one laugh, of course!  Other than first aid, we had a lady come in and teach us how to do the au pair link program and also about travel within New Zealand and Australia. It is so expensive here!!! The tour guide was saying most homes go for a million dollars legitimately and those are not even that big. And my host mom was telling me that jeans here are usually around 150-300$ NZD which is 130-280$ USD but still very expensive in my opinion. People here are very “Green” and eco-friendly, with recycling bins everywhere and most things are very clean in general here.
On our tour we drove through Auckland and went to the top of One Tree Hill as well as to the beach where we ate at a prestigious Italian restaurant! It was really fun taking pictures with all the girls and seeing the sunset over the bay! The rest of orientation went fairly smooth and my family picked me up from the Holiday Inn and we went to a Strawberry patch to get the first batch of Strawberries this Season! They were a tad bit tart still but still very delicious!

Bailey is starting tennis this week to try it out so we have been taking him to that in the mornings since it is school holiday here.  While he is gone at tennis Brooklyn and I like to play games and jump on the trampoline! We have been having a great time taking pictures as well. He is my little movie star always wanting to pose and do different shots with various faces. Anyways, Ta Ta For Now!
Thanks for reading,
